Personal Care
Manual Manipulation
The word chiropractic comes from the Greek words cheir (hands) and praxis (practice). As the name suggests, it is a hands-on therapy.Chiropractic manipulation is the application of pressure to a person's spine or other parts of their body by a qualified chiropractic doctor, or chiropractor. This pressure allows a chiropractor to adjust and correct alignment. Chiropractic manipulation aims to reduce pain and improve mechanical function, or the way a person moves.

Flextion Distraction Table
Disc Injury? In great pain?
It is a gentle chiropractic treatment procedure utilized for spinal pain.
This procedure is performed on a uniquely designed table and is based on a distractive force (supplied with the doctor’s hand) combined with table motion. Flexion distraction technique uses the table to restore normal physiological range of motion to the spinal joints. Flexion distraction manipulation is a gentle, non-force adjusting procedure which works with the body’s natural design to aid it in healing properly. The goals of the flexion distraction adjustment include transfer of metabolites into the spinal disc, decreasing intradiscal pressures and decompressing inflamed/compressed spinal nerve roots. It reduces the pressure within the spinal discs. |
It is time to care for your body, sleep mattersA GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP
Everyone knows there’s nothing like a good night’s sleep for feeling refreshed and alert in the morning. On the other hand, not getting the seven or eight hours of sleep that you need may leave you feeling grumpy and tired all day. But here’s something you may not know: you have far more control over the quality of your sleep than you think. Choose a Good Mattress Your mattress should be flexible enough to adapt to your body’s shape, but firm enough to support your spine. If you share your bed, look for one that provides independent support for each sleeper. Test Your Pillow Your pillow should help keep your head and neck in line with your spine. Try out a variety of pillows in the store to find the one that feels comfortable and works best for you. Different types include memory foam, fibre, feather and buckwheat. Don’t Sleep on Your Stomach Canada’s chiropractors recommend sleeping on your back or side. These positions allow your head, neck and spine to relax into their natural alignment. This reduces stress and strain on your muscles and joints that can disrupt your sleep and lead to aches in the morning. Read more.. |
